Additional Information
The Greater North Shore is fortunate to have many effective practices in place if a disaster occurs. Dedicated professionals are ready to respond. However, elders and individuals with disabilities may request additional assistance when a disaster or weather emergency occurs.
This conference will help all of us, professionals and citizens alike, recognize and successfully respond to the various needs during a disaster.
During the morning plenary sessions, we will discuss several local examples of disasters and highlight the most effective ways to help elders and individuals with disabilities.
Afternoon workshops will detail different types of disaster preparation. An exhibit will feature equipment used during disasters and emergencies.
You should attend if you are an: emergency manager and planner, local official, social services provider, employee of an emergency and disaster response agencies, and member of the public—especially seniors and those living with disabilities.
